Using cleaner's on the interior

I use Meguiar's trim care on the vinyl around the inside of my car. Is there a better way not to get it on the glass. I know you can tape it off. But could you use something else on it.

I am not sure exactly what product you are talking about but... I always spray any cleaner or protectant on a 100% cotton towel never on the surface of the dash, door or what ever to prevent the product from ending up where I do not want it.

I have heard some use a foam applicator pad.
