Can wet-sanding cause clear coat failure. The dealer had recently wet-sanded my altima and now it has a milky-haze that is not oxidation.

"Yes". It can cause clear coat failure in that too much clear coat can be sanded off exposing the basecoat.

It kind of sounds like they sanded too much clear off? What color is the Altima to start with?

Is the affected area glossy or flat?

Why were they wet sanding your car's finish in the first place? Did you have it repainted?

If the problem was not there to start with, you might want to consider capturing the damage with a photograph and then taking your car back to the dealership for an explanation. If you have to, take notes and come back here and post their explanation along with a picture of the affected area.
