Went outside and the cat was on the roof of the car, she then proceeded to stand up, stretch out, and put a nasty scratch in the roof of the car! :wall: :wall:

I had just washed the car the day before so out came some quick detailer and microfiber to clean up the area, then broke out the DACP and porter cable with medium cut yellow foam pad from edge.
Fifteen minutes later here is the result, you can still see a slight part of the scratch but it is far less noticeable, maybe can go back this weekend and perfect it.

If your car has to sit outside and there are cats or other small animals you might think about a car cover. They can be a hassle but they work. Just a thought.

It might be a good idea to trim the cats claws too.

******* Cats! I love animals but I have to say that I really can't stand cats. They make better speed bumps, anchors, ( or skeets as some of you would like) than pets. :wall:
I remember this one time a cat was on this guys hood and the guy mashed the horn. You could hear the cat's claws raking into the paint on it's way down! :(

P.S. Dogs make much better pets except when the males try to "shine" your tires! :db:

ummmmm...the topic went from scratches to exterminating them...why not talk to their owners who let them roam, I did and they were more concerned with a law suit....but 1st a polite warning then.........I'll do something about it...

:D :D
seems to be much animosity towards cats here. It was my cat and cant really blame her, shes been allowed to sleep on the cars since shes been around for the last 11 years (long before I was detailing cars).
I needed a challenge anyway :)
The last suggestion seems the best....no killing cats please :)

The big jungle cats like to perch high up on a ledge, or a tree limb or something in order to see anything that moves.
House cats are the same way...My tom cat likes to perch on top off my old work car in order to see mice, birds or whatever.
My tom cat has cleaned out the rodent population for now. :D ...He has some big claws!

Here's another expensive "doo-dad" from Griots that addresses this problem:
