I noticed the headlamps on my wifes 99 Concorde were starting to get a little dull about a year ago and then for some reason they progressively got worse over the last 6 months. Our cars are parked outside 24-7.

What grit sandpaper should I use? And after wetsanding, will hand applications of PlastX do the job or will I need to buff with a polisher?

we tend to prefer to use the least agressive approach first, i would first try plast-x 1st..i havent used the product but i have heard and seen its results and its amazing..if you need to, use a terry cloth applicator or even a polisher..wet sanding i would do as a last resort because many times headlights are coated...for example, if one burns through the clear on paint it cant be fixed and the same holds true for the coating used on many headlights..for plast-x use the directions on the back..hope this helps

I used my rotary (pc can be used also, but will take a bit longer) with a cutting pad on my mom's camry today. I was able to polish it up with just 45 seconds per headlight. That's how fast the rotary worked. The pad is not aggressive enough to create swirls on your headlight, but just make sure you have enough product on it. Also, I would take up the paint area around you headlights so you dont "accidently" ruin your paint.
