Should a person stay away from chamois'? I know microfibre towels are the best, but can a clean chamois still do minor damage?

Imagine there is just 1 little dust particle between the chamois and your paint. What would that do?? :wall: :wall:

Anytime you touch your car's finish with anything, even your hand... the potential exists to instill a scratch because you're touching the finish.

Your job, my job, our job is to do everything we can to reduce the potential.

If your car is clean, as in washed and rinsed and free from any dirt or abrasive particles on the finish, and your choice of chamois is clean, then in most cases removing the water from the finish shouldn't be putting any scratches in unless you're using really poor technique.

Currently, my favorite tools for removing the water off of our cars our to first use our Microfiber Super Suede Drying Towel to get the majority of the water off.

Then go back over the finish with a dry Water Magnet Drying Towel

and gently blot off any remaining water droplets.

It's a system that works for me, everyone needs to try the available options on the market and find out what works best for them as personal preference and skill and ability play a part in the performance of any product or tool.

I use Meguiar's Water Magnet Drying Towel, I used to use chamois leathers in the past but this works much better for me. The Water Magnet Drying Towel works more like a cloth, it glides smoother over the paint surface than a chamois leather does I find.

:welcome to MOL rvx290! where in Canada are you from?

The water magnet is pretty good, but i think it is not as absorbant as the absorber. I think that because the water magnet is a microfibre it is less likely to scratch the surface if there is just a little bit of dirt.

I am betting that the safest way to dry your car is using 2 water magnets
