today i got to try my first bottle of dacp #83.i never used it before, but after careful reading on the forums overhere,i knew i could work with this product.
today i'm going to take care of a 2002 jaguar, which was only waxed, when it was sold, after that,he had only seen automated carwash streets(shame, shame),altough it was in a reasonable state, there was a spot at the trunk lid, were it was once hit by a muddy ball, which left a pretty scratched spot.

and here is the before shot......

the paint was a rare one,i thought it was british racing green, but depending what the angle was, sometimes it turned to blue, nice, but the finish was a bit dull.

i first washed the car, than dried it,clayed the hood, and the front windshield.than it was time for the first aplication of dacp #83.
i had to do a couple of times, but with each time, the ball spot disapeared a bit.this is what the end result was, after dacp, before nxt....

this dacp,is very nice stuff, and i'm sure that i will use it often.
after this,i put on two layers of next, trimmed the plastics, and tyres, and look what it looks like no.......amazing,isn't it?

the owner was very pleased with the end results, and asked me to do this car on a regular basis.
of course,i'm happy with that too.
coming up nxt,a 3 series bmw,very neglected,and black.

ciao,
Rick

thanx for the nice reply's,gearhead,to answer your question first,i'm using a dual action machine, with a excentrick motion,by the make of kress.it was a bargain, and performs good though.it is actually a sanding machine, but the speed is adjustable,so it's also good to use as a polishing machine.the machine comes in a case, with a couple of pads,a couple of sanding pads, and a velcro plate,so it's quite complete, and i own it now for about a year, and i have no complaints about it.

to answer Mike's question:
overhere, meguiars prof.products are hard to get in small orders, the representative for the prof.products delivered me the dacp,in just one bottle order, but i had to call twice, and i get a better deal, when i buy from meguiars europe direct.why they use this structure is a big ? to me,so,i use three meg's pads,i got from David,a red cutting pad,a yellow polishing pad,and a yellow finishing pad.
i follow the rule of dedicate pads to a product,so i went searching for a polishing pad,and found one from sonax.seems to me it is a bit thicker but worked fine with the dacp.
i figured this was the best pad for the job,the red i use for deep crystal paint cleaner,i thought, the dacp is a bit more abrasive, and i was affraid to damage the jaguar.took me a couple of times to apply,i think 4 or 5 times,in between i rubbed of the residue, and it did a perfect job.
the scratches that the ball made were in the clear coat, but i could feel them with my nails,so i didn't expect them to be remove completely.
but,i don't know why i bothered,meguiars got the job done,no sweat.

bye,
Rick
