Use a heat gun to get the stripe hot... you dont want the metal to get say over 140 degrees... this will soften the glue on the underside, peel up one edge and it will just come right off... Remove excess left over glue with 3M adhesive remover... OR
You can set it in the sun and let it get hot and pull the tape... either way, it wont take long to pull the stripe.. If it is cold where you are at, then use the heat gun.. you can work a 6 inch section at a time if not more

Unless, of course, they are paint.

With a rotary buffer:idea: JUST KIDDING Use the tips posted above. I find that if you pull them off slower, they shouldn't leave as much adhesive behind.

I think this is a very very risky way of doing it, you could scratch the paint very easily!!
Look over on ADS, they have a pinstripe and decal removal kit...

On a painted pin stripe, I personally would use #80 or #83 on the PC (since that's what I have lol). It would probably remove painted pin stripes fine unless they were actually painted at the same time as the rest of the car, and clear coated over (I don't know if they even do that, but if they do I have no idea how to remove ones like that). I've been working on a motorcycle trailer recently with painted on pin stripes, and #80 removes them unless I just go really lightly over them.
