Wow...

I sure do get some P.O.S.!

Look at this 1990 Toyota Tercel! Ran on one cylinder...lol

I wanted to do the seats and door panels as well but the boss man said no way...it's going to cost him to much for me to do that as well!

Anyway..I did the carpets...I had too...they really make a big difference when done!

The outside "before" car shot was after I had washed it only! It was a muddy and dirty mess!

I cleaned the interior with Meguiar's Extra and a ton of rags, several different detailing brushes, and dressed it with #40! Carpets were scrubbed by hand! Wow..they were covered in salt!

For the Exterior....#83 on PC with Maroon pad on Speed 6 (I let it rip the crud (edited by 2hotford) off...lol)

Followed up with Meguiar's Gold Class on PC with finishing pad @ Speed 3 and buffed off with Ultimate Bonnet on Speed 5! Why I spent the time on a car that was just going to auction for $500.00 I don't know! Pride I guess! If people are going to see it, I would like them to think that I tried my best, even though the car wasn't really worth it IMHO!

I'd say that you just increased the value of it by $300.00 - $500.00.

Nice work.

Nice work, this is real detailing. What did you use to remove the salt stains? Were the salt stains an accumalation of many years?

Hey f1guy68,

Firstly, you did a great job!! :xyxthumbs It always amazes me, no no actually it horrifies me how some people treat their cars!

Secondly, I hope you do not mind but I edited one word by changing it to "crud". It was not a big deal, but we are just trying really hard to keep the site family oriented. :)

Thank You All so very much!

Yep..this is what detailing is all about somedays!

Teak:

Yeah..the salt was caked on there! I would assume it was a few years old...lol

I used Meguiar's Extra to soften and remove! I shot some on and let it soak while I went about the other stuff! The Extra works really great!

2hotford:

Thanks for the edit! I do forget sometimes you watch my P's & Q's! Sorry bout that! Thanks for the prop's!

You think I would be used to seeing these horrible looking cars come in, and I always shake my head, and say to myself...if this is the car..what does the house look like...whew.....nasty, nasty, nasty!

I could not agree more! I remember seeing a person's home one time where you would be lucky if you could even see a small patch of carpet through all the mess!!!

Sorry if this may be gross, but don't you wonder the same when you go into a public restroom. Do people really leave their toliets and bathroom floors at home looking like how some leave their "mark" behind in public restrooms?

Same goes with houses. I know money can be tight for some people, but when the paint's peeling and it's looking bad, go buy some cheap paint to spruce the place up. Oh, and clean up the junk laying around all over the yard.

I don't know, it's just a matter of personal pride in one's self. :xyxthumbs

Hey,

I know all too well what you are talking about! My wife and I are currently house shopping and you would not believe how bad some people keep their homes! A little paint, a little scrubbing and the house would look a whole lot different!
