Swirls Begone (My first PC)

This was my first job using the PC. I must say I will never go back.

Procedure:
1. Wash
2. Clay front (bugs)
3. DACP (cobwebs, swirls)
4. #9 (restore gloss)
5.NXT

The DACP is my new favorite polish. It did an outstanding job.

Since this car is black, the gloss needed a little help. Here is the car is after a #9 treatment and NXT.

The PC made my life extremely easy. My only question is if a pure polish like #7 would have glossed the car to any measurable degree. I would have done it, but when I tested it on one section, the results did not really change much.

I am trying to decide what to do with my swirl and scratch marks. I think I will try something like you did

Great Job, good question. I'd like to know that myself, I have almost a full bottle of #7 I havn't hardly used

My paint is kinda funky. There are blue metallic specks to create an effect honda calls "Nighthawk Black Pearl". That just means that the car "changes" color in different lighting: blue or black. In direct sun, the car looks blue and glittery. In the shade(the dark spot caused by my arm in the picture) the car looks black. Of course, they could be dust also lol.

Which pads for which products did you use ? And what speeds ?

My paint looks similar to yours and was thinking of -

DACP - Cutting Pad (Orange)
#9 - Polishing Pad (White)
NXT- Finishing Pad (Black)

So what pads did you use ? And what speeds ? I'm just waiting for my DACP to arrive then I'll give it ago

I used two polishing pads one for the DACP and the other for the #9. I would have used a cutting pad, but I wasn't that frisky and the swirls were fairly minor. The PC speed varied between 4 and 5 for both. I also should have followed with a finishing pad with #7 or some other glaze, but I did not have the time. I followed the polish with a hand coat of NXT.

Would a topper like #26 or another NXT bring out some more gloss?

What king of pad did you use on your car to get rid of the swirls? I have swirls on my car and I tried to remove them with Meguiars Swirl Remover.

i think #7 was made more for single stage paints. it might not work too well with your paint. #81 Hand Polish might work better since it was formulated for clear coat paint jobs, but it seems #9 might've had enough oils to restore the gloss, thus negating the need for a pure polish stage.

what you could try is on the hood, do one half with #26 and the other half with NXT and see which one you like.

but nice job, post more pictures if you do top your Accord off with another coat of NXT or #26!

I used the yellow Meguiars polishing pads. I think the # is 8006.
