View Full Version : How about online ordering for international customers?

I'm from Australia, but we cannot readily purchase all of the Meguiar's products locally. Why cannot an on-line system allow international users to purchase directly from the US, with shipping costs etc to be for the customer?
I would think this would do well for Meguiars and for us car enthusiasts.

You have a valid point. Not all products are available everywhere. I suggest you contact the local Meguiar's importer and ask for the specific product you are looking for. If they don't stock it, ask them to bring it for you. It might take some time, but this will be the cheapest way the get the product into your hands. Usualy the international freight charges and duty expenses will increase the cost of a small order significantly.
Sincerely,

Besides shipping costs are related expenses, Meguiar's is dedicated toward working with our distributors to pull product through them. There may be other reasons I don't know about as this is not my department. As such the best way to get the Meguiar's products you want is to check with local distributors.
I understand that not all distributors carry everything everyone wants. I'll take a guess that the way to fix this is to generate a lot of interest in a product to show the distributor there is large enough demand for the item that it will be in their interest to include it in their inventory.
Hope this help...

Thanks to everyone for their reply, whereby some very good points have been made.
The way I perceive things, is that it may be ok to request from a retailer /distributor to ship in a new product in which that they may not currently ship into the country, however, it seems that if demand isn't high enough, well then that particular product line will not be shipped in.
No doubt the basic laws of demand and supply dictate what will and what will not be made available within a particulat market /region of the world.
Therefore, short of generating alot of interest, which lets be honest, not many of us have the time to do, unless we were working for Meguiars, well then I suppose, certain markets will not be able to purchase those product lines simply because it isn't viable to have them shipped out or sold on that market. Again, I think this is fair enough.
However, with online purchasing, I would assume that any company could implement international on-line ordering quite effectively, even with shipping costs etc to be included.
These are just my thoughts on how a great company like Meguiars, could further their market potential, for those that a fairly loyal to the brand name, notwithstanding those that simply choose a product ad-hoc from the department store or auto retailer's shelf.
Would be interested in anyone else's comments / opinions.
