:scratchhead1i messed up my head lights after using the plastic x. it did clear the plastic and looks good too. but after couple of hours i can see the fog in side my head lights. fog on the seal beam.on the silver looking thing in head light. know how do i remove the fog ?:confused:

did you forget to wipe off the plastX?

If the fog is on the inside part of your headlights how did you do that?I've seen headlights with the fog/cloudyness on the inside of the lense.
It could have been there before you cleaned your lens, when you used the plastX you cleaned off the oxidized surface and then noticed it. Also it could be moisture building up on the inside?

no i did not forgot to wipe off the plastic x... this is how i apply on it >> first i clean my headlight with water and let it dry. after it dry i took tele cloth and at the end of the cloth i put some plastic x on it and keep rubbing it nice and jently with lite pressure untill it get clear ...

the fog was not there at all. it cames after i use plastic x. and yes the fog is inn side the lense. i did not notice that i have fog in side my lense. after couple hours i was driving my car at night. was going to to job and i fell that my light is not reflecting as good as yesterday. so i check the headlights and see inside the lens and i found out that i have a fog in there .... what can i do know please help me here .......

Can you post a picture of what your talking about and show the condition, so we can help a little better. Maybe someone on here has been through this before and can tell you how to remove or improve somewhat!

I doubt is because of Plast-X, I've used this multiple times (hand and machine) and never got this. Maybe you see this more noticeable because you've cleaned the outside of the headlight and now you see the inside better but this was already there before using Plast-X

Is there any chance it could be water vapour inside the housing? I have a leaking headlight on my car that needs to be fixed. At first it started as a mist, but very quickly got much worse.
You can try removing the bulb and letting it dry in the sun or use a hair dryer on low. If that clears it up, you will have to reseal your headlight some how.
I have my doubts that PlastX could somehow mess up the inside of a sealed light but leave the outside fine...

We had a hole in one of our headlights on our Pilot and every time it rained or we washed the Pilot it would fog up on the inside. We replaced it with a new one but when it warmed up the sun/heat would evaporate the moister and the fog would go away.

I think that might be the cause. When you washed them you must have somehow gotten water in the housing. I don't know of anyway to get it out.

Oddly, my leaky headlight is in a Pilot as well. Trying to figure out how to remove the thing is the fun part, being our only vehicle, the wife wouldn't understand too well to see the front of the truck taken off....

Sounds like the seal around the head lamp is leaking. It happens to a lot of vehicles.

A picture would help. Is the car still under warranty? I know we have replaced a few headlights in my time at the dealer due to fogging.

Yes I agree. A lot of newer cars at my college are doing that. They are fogged up in the morning and clear at noon. I remember fixing some headlights on a Prelude and it was fogged up on the inside after getting rid of the hazyness on the outside. My motorcycle does it after I wash it, then clears up.

We got lucky kind of...
One time when we took it in for service they didn't install the oil drain plug correctly so instead of me fixing their mistake we let them fix it and as a way of saying sorry for the mistake they replaced the headlight. They had to remove a huge portion of the front clip/bumper etc to replace the headlight. I'm so glad they did it so I got out of it. :)
Good rule of thumb... only buy cars that originally came with old-fashioned round glass headlights... inexpensive and easy to replace.
