New member from south Orange County, CA. I found this board through the Autopia boards. There has always been at least one Meguiar's product in my garage for as long as I can remember, mainly #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax.
I recently bought a silver Dodge Magnum(Yes, it's got a Hemi) that's paint is in surprisingly good condition, so I want to keep it that way and maybe even improve it. The car that the Magnum replaced is a white WRX wagon with quite a bit of cobwebbing. I clay barred it 2 weeks ago so it's nice and smooth, but now it needs a good polishing and wax. I'm debating whether to use DACP or #9 with my new Porter Cable 7336 from Lowe's. All those pictures of the minis is pushing me towards the DACP.
It would be great to get a Dodge Magnum/Chrysler 300 detail day setup eventually. Mike or Lynn, since these are pretty big cars, do we need to have as many show up?
Lastly, I used to always see a Meguiar's Suburban near my old place in Lake Forest. Who drives it?

Hi Peter,
Welcome to Meguiar's Online! :welcome
Meguiar's always says to use the least aggressive product to get the job done, so with your PC that would be the #9 Swirls Remover. But if you have quite a bit of cobwebbing, it will probably require a product with a little more bite. Perhaps you can bring it by Meguiar's sometime and I'll take a look at it and we can science out a game plan for the finish?
We can set up a clinic for these cars, but it will be in 2005, send me an e-mail to this effect at

The Suburban you see is our very own Mike Pennington's. He's our Director of Training and a real pro when it comes to all aspects of total car care!

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone! :xyxthumbs I have a new theory that people who frequent detailing related message boards are much cooler/nicer than the general public at car specific message boards. At least that's been my observation.
Mike, I would love to come by the Meguiar's Office to get some advice. :bow Not sure how busy your days are, but would you have any time tomorrow afternoon??? I'm selling the WRX so I was actually planning to go at this weekend with the PC.
As for the Detail Day, I will bring up the idea and see what kind of interest I get. I don't know who wouldn't want to do it, but sometimes
Thanks again.

Sorry, Mike was out of town teaching the NXT Tech. Institute Class.
If you would like, Mike has room in his San Diego Miata Club Detail Day at Meguiar’s this Saturday, Sept. 25th. Donuts and coffee will be served at 8:30am with class starting at 9:00am sharp.

Hi Lynn,
Thanks, I saw that thread about the NXT Class so I figured he was busy.
I can't make it this Saturday, but I will try to get out to one of the Detail Days soon.
Thanks,
Peter
