What is the best product to use on chrome wheels. I have been cleaning them real good with the car wash and just using wax for a shine and some protection. In the past i have used so called wheel cleaners that have stained/discolored the finish so i'm unsure what to use.
Thanks for any help.

Chrome wheels need a little more attention than other types of wheels, but they look really great when they are all shined up. Using wax works good, but some people say that wax can be harmful to chrome because it "seals" it and can cause pitting.

Windex works great to shine up chrome, and WD-40 is great for removing brake dust, tar, and other build up from your wheels. To protect them, I would use Meguiars all metal polish. I haven't tried it yet, but it supposedly works great on all wheels. Hope this helps.

I found the care instructions that came with the wheels and they say to use a soft cream wax to protect them. I've been using #26 cuz thats what i've been using on the car so i guess NXT will be ok as well.

Tim -- it didn't say if they were clear coated or not so i'm not sure.

Thanks for the reply Tim --- i think i'll use the NXT since i've started using it on the car anyway. If it makes the wheels look as good as the paint i'll be a happy guy. :D

On my friend's stock Ford Ranger Splash chrome rims we used some QD with an old piece of clay. Afterwards we took a MF towl and we buffed the residue from the QD off of his rims. We ended up with a very clean, very shiny rim. The only bad thing is I lost the old clay, so now we can't do this next time. :( Also, as a note, he had washed the truck already and had used only normal carwash to clean the wheels.
