I've posted this on Autopia forum and thought I would share here.
Two of the three products I used were Megs.
I used #83 DACP with an orange LC pad (which started to come apart btw...going the use a purple megs pad next)
Then used Menzerna final polish.
Followed by two coats of NXT (great stuff)

The before pics were taken in the worst possible light I could find to show you the level of scratches that were in the finish.

And now the after shots:
The first two pics were taken the same way the pics above were taken..

The rest were taken outside.

I probably removed 90% of the scratches, swirls and defects. Deeper scratches are still there and I'm not stressin' to much over them. When I first got done I was like man this is great, now I'm wanting to get the other 10% (perhaps different pad/product combo). I did like two or three passes/applications of the DACP, this was a much as I could fix.

This was only my second vehicle that I used the PC on. However I have owned my Porter Cable 7336 for over 14 years now and have used it a bunch of times on my woodworking projects (Thanks Norm). I bought it direct from Porter Cable when it was a "new" product. I contacted PC recently inquiring about my 'old' model, and they stated virtually nothing has changed in design and parts since the products inception. It looks exactly the same. I have used and abused this thing for many years and it is still going strong. They must be doing something right.

Hey Napalm, first of all, great work! I was just wondering whether you used #80 (Speed Glaze) or is it #83(DACP).. Thanks!

Looks great. Those were some nasty pig tails you got rid of in the paint. I love a shinny black car.

Yes it was #83 DACP, thanks for pointing out the error.

I've edited the original post so it does not cause any confusion for anyone lurking through.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, it sure was a long tough day, but it was worth it in the end

Hi Napalm,

I have to tell you... I'm impressed! Your before pictures are awesome as are your results!

Thanks for sharing this on Meguiar's Online. Fourteen years huh? That's longer than anyone I know for using the PC. In fact the PC in the pictures looks like it's holding up really well because mine is really looking tatty from all of it's use... but it's still hanging in there.

I used it today on a new car, and then my daughter used it today on her cousins car. Good tool, perfect for serious enthusiasts.

Again, great job and thanks for posting your pictures and story...

Mike
