MB World at Meguiar's!
If you plan on attending the detailing class for the MBWorld (http://www.mbworld.org/home.html) on November 20th 2004, please reply to this thread and I will add your name to the list. Classes are limited to the first 30 people/cars that sign-up. After 30 people/cars have signed-up, a stand-by list will be started. This is due to limited space in the classroom.
Because of the overwhelming amount of interest in this class, we have opened it up for 5 more people.
(If something comes up, as a favor to your peers, please reply to this thread and ask to be removed from the list, thanks, -Mike)

Hi Danny,
I'll add your name to the list!
As far as spreading the word goes, last night I sent an e-mail to Doug, the person who contacted me and initiated this clinic. Let me see if I hear back from him first.

Hi Mark,
Good to hear from you again! I'll add your name to the list and add your guests name too. If at all possible, I would prefer each person that wants to attend to reply themselves.
This is because of some recent problems we have encountered in the past. This includes one club not showing up or notifying me that they would not be showing up. I take the blame for this for not controlling the sign-up list. So as of this week I have implemented a new policy, and created a new forum for people to sign-up, here on Meguiar's Online if they want to attend a Saturday Detailing Class.
Another reason for the new policy is my son was in an accident about a month ago on a Friday night, I needed to leave the house and stay with him at the hospital through the weekend.
Update on Rand (http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2478)
Before the Ambulance left for Loma Linda Hospital, I had about 20 minutes to try to quickly contact everyone scheduled to attend the class the next morning and I'm sorry to say, that because we didn't have control of the sign-up list, I was not successful in contacting everyone.
By having everyone that would like to attend one of our Saturday detailing classes, reply to a sign-up thread here on MOL, I can e-mail everyone in case something ever comes up and we have to cancel the class.
So if at all possible, I would prefer each person that wants to attend to reply themselves to the appropriate sign-up forum. The exception would be for husband & wife teams. This way if the class has to be canceled, (like one did earlier this year), I can e-mail everyone to notify them ahead of time.
The other reason is this, I personally appreciate someone that is willing to sign-up for a class on our forum. To me that means they are indeed serious and interested in our class. During the class, I give 100% the entire class and do everything in my power to help everyone to the fullest of my ability. We supply coffee, pastries, pizza, cold drinks, goodie bags and hands-on training during the class, all we ask for in return is a for members to sign-up here on MOL, and at the end of the class, fill out a feedback form.
The one exception for not signing-up for a class would be for people that are not online, (which is pretty slim now days). Just last week, my own dad finally broke down and bought a desktop computer system and is now online. (Way to go Dad! :bigups )
So I know it's a little bit of a hassle for some people, (but not a big hassle if a person is familiar with discussion forum software like vbulletin, which appears to me to be the most popular and widely used for automotive websites).
Perhaps someone could post the link to this thread to the sign-up list on the IS300.net forum and everyone there that is signed up, and is still interested and planning on attending the class, will of course be given first priority.
Thanks for understanding! :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs
Thanks!

Hi KingBenz,
Welcome to Meguiar's Online! :welcome
Anyone that is signed-up on the MBWorld forum will get first priority if they are still interested and able to attend the event. If anyone drops off the primary list, those on the standby list will be moved upward.
I'll add your name to the list!

Actually, anyone on the sign-up list that is still interested, and still able to attend will retain their place on the sign-up list. This week I have implemented a new system and forum for signing up for our clinics that is not meant or intended to ignore any sign-up list on another forum, but to give me control over this list for a host of reasons for the benefit of everyone.
I have began scheduling new clinics for the 2005 calender and all new clubs will be required to use this new system. It's more work for me, but better in the end.
Thanks!

When I allow some people to sign up their friends, then everyone will want me to sign up their friend and it defeats the purpose of the sign-up list.

Hi everyone,
So if you read through the first page, it kind of explains that there is no charge for the class, but unless your married, or don't have access to a computer, that if you want to attend the class, then each person that wants to attend the class needs to reply to the thread on they're own, unless your married.
The other reason is this, I personally appreciate someone that is willing to sign-up for a class on our forum. To me that means they are indeed serious and interested in our class. During the class, I personally give 100% of myself the entire class and do everything in my power to help everyone to the fullest extent of my ability.
We supply coffee, pastries, pizza, cold drinks, goodie bags and hands-on training during the class, all we ask for in return is that for each person to sign-up here on MOL, and at the end of the class, fill out a feedback form.
Thanks for reading and following the requirements.

Hey Mike, I learned alot during the Beetles class. I was wondering if you have like a more private class. i kind of wanted to go over some of the products that you would recommend as a professional detailing shop. how to use each of the products. i don't know if you have a class every weekend but just wondering on how i can do this. i also signed up for the MBworld class on Nov. 20th, but i am not sure if i can make it. but i will keep you posted on that. please let me know. thanks alot

Hi Xtreme-Klean,
I'll add your name to the standby list. I've already had one person cancel from the main sign-up list and I've moved Dave Hooker's name to the number 8 spot.
So check back, things change.

Hi Albert,
I'll put your uncle on the waiting list. I should have a final head count by this Wednesday.

Is there any room in this class? I don't have an MB but I could really use some help with some scratches on the hood of my Scion tC. Thanks!

Hi Jim,
On the the bottom left hand of this page are some numbers ranging from 1 to 7...
click on the number 1 and this will take you back to the first page of this thread. There you will see the sign-up list and where it's at. I'll add you to the sign-up list.

Hi,
Please release Pete Lynch (#11) from the list.
He will not be able to attend and we would like to ensure the spot to someone on the waiting list.
Thank You, Bill Lynch

Thank you for letting us know, I have removed Pete.
Good news for Xtreme-Klean. You have just been bumped up to Pete's old space at #11.

Mike,
Is the Store now open?
What will you be rcommending to purchase, beyond what is in the goody bag?
I bought the Porter cable, are the newest Ultra covers available?
Anything new we can get?

Sorry for the late notice, but I will not be attending the detailing class tomorrow. I hope you are able to notify someone on the waiting list on time.

Hi breastroker,
I just posted two promotions for members, one is for working by hand, the other is for working with the G-100 dual action polisher.
There are no *New* product available yet and as they do become available, you will hear about it first on the forum.

I was wondering, are people registered by car (as in each name added per car) or are you suppose to register for each individual person, even if you are carpooling all in one car?
Thanks!

The list is for 30 people, if you carpool everyone in your group will need to sign up on the forum.
We like to encourage people to bring their own car as we do some hands on training. If we have 30 people ride alone we would have 30 people and 30 cars. ;)
