first of all, what do you mean by sanding it down??? Are you going to sand it flat and paint it... or what???

Hi Ken,

I'm not sure what you mean either?

Exactly what are you sanding down, and what it the goal for your end-result?

Depending on how smooth you wany it I would go for more of a 200 grit or so 80 is like small pebbles really. Depending on how smooth your dash or interior pieces are will depend on what grit of sand paper to use. Ive always chose a grit and then have gotten two above that just to get rid of any big marks in the piece that I am working on. Ive also been able to use filler-primer, I think plasticolor has a cheap filler primer I've used that after I have sanded it to fill in all the marks then I wet sand and spray another coat on. Repeat that a couple of times then spray your color on. That has worked the best for me its really time consuming but If done right will yield great results.
