SoCal Mini Maniacs at Meguiar's!

If you plan on attending the detailing class for the SoCal Mini Maniacs (http://www.scmm.org/) club on March, 19th 2005, please reply to this thread and I will add your name to the list. Classes are limited to the first 30 people/cars that sign-up. After 30 people/cars have signed-up, a stand-by list will be started. This is due to limited space in the classroom.

If the class does not reach the 30 people limit by one week before the event, the class will be opened up for non members to attend up to a total of 30 people. This is because there are more people that want to attend a class then there are Saturdays available to accommodate everyone.


If you would like to attend this event you must sign-up by replying to this thread.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You are only allowed to sign-up for yourself and immediate family members that are living in your home. Friends, family and other club members will need to sign-up for themselves.

Here's a link to the class schedule,

Typical Class Schedule for Meguiar's Detailing 101 Classes (http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/calendar.php?s=&action=getinfo&eventid=62)

Basically, it starts at 8:30 and goes till around 3:00pm

I'll have computer printed name tags created from the sign-up list for everyone to pick up from 8:30am to 9:00am while everyone is meeting and talking shop and then the classroom portion starts at 9:00am sharp. We go out and do a walk-by at approximately 11:30am and then break for lunch at noon. After lunch we pick out two dark colored cars to work on and the hands-on portion of the class starts.

I have a date available that I have saved for a rainy day such as this that we can re-schedule to but we cannot use both days, it has to be an one or the other decision.

Thanks for updating us as to your attendance to the clinic this weekend. As for demonstration cars, we do look for cars that need to by clayed, is this the problem you are experiencing from the industrial fallout? Above surface bonded Contaminants?

Let's hope it's sunny as it makes it a lot easier to show before and after when we work on the cars.

Yeah, it definitely needs to be clayed, and from what research I've done and people I've talked to, that is exactly what it's from... Industrial fallout. I've clayed it once before, but it has come back, which is why I'm excited about this clinic because I can learn how to better keep it away!

The other problem I have is some pretty good swirl marks.

It'd be awesome to learn on my own car...
