If you plan on attending the detailing class for the CorvetteForum (http://www.corvetteforum.com/) on February 5th, 2005 , please reply to this thread and I will add your name to the list. Classes are limited to the first 30 people/cars that sign-up. After 30 people/cars have signed-up, a stand-by list will be started. This is due to limited space in the classroom.

If the class does not reach the 30 people limit by one week before the event, the class will be opened up for non-members to attend up to a total of 30 people. This is because there are more people that want to atttend Meguiar's detailing classes than there are Saturdays available to accomodate everyone.


If you would like to attend this event you must sign-up by replying to this thread.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You are only allowed to sign-up for yourself and immediate family members that are living in your home. Friends, family and other club members will need to sign-up for themselves.

One week before the class I send out an Reminder E-mail to everyone on both lists to remind everyone their class is coming up the following weekend and I ask anyone that has to cancel out to reply to the e-mail or to this thread so that I can adjust the sign-up list. Unfortunately I will neeed to attend a future detail day, I just found out We've got relatives coming down from Canada Feb 1 - 10, and I can't get any additional time from work to see them. I hope there is a write up here or on the corvetteforum so I can pick up additional tips.

We're sorry to hear you cannot make it. I'll do my best to post an extra special write-up the following Monday or Tuesday after the event. Perhaps you can attend one of our other Saturday clinics? We have many Corvette clinics coming up as well as other clubs and a special detailing class on April 2nd for forum members.

Hi Dennis,

All you need to bring is an enthusiastic attitude, we'll do the rest!

We start the class at 9:00am and finish around 3:00pm. I'm always willing to stay longer and help people with specific problems or one-on-on training.

Here's the Itinerary from the Online Calender,


Schedule for the day
8:30 am to 9:00 am - Coffee and Pastries ? Meet & Greet and get your name tag - Shop Talk

9:00 am to 11:00 am - An in-depth Power Point Presentation covering Meguiar?s history, unique background, Consumer and Professional product lines and Meguiar?s 5-step paint care cycle.

11:00 am to 11:30 am - Questions & Answers

11:30 am to 12:00 noon - Walk-by of attendees cars to discuss the owners current car care program. Choose two cars to demonstrate on.

12:00 noon to 12:30 pm - Lamppost Pizza with cold soda pop and water

12:30 pm to 3:00 pm - Product demonstrations with a focus on using proper technique for applying products by hand and with the G-100 dual action polisher

3:00 pm to 5:00 pm - Open Garage for testing and trying out Meguiar?s product on attendees cars with instruction and guidance from Instructors

The afternoon portion of the class is a hands-on experience and attendees are encouraged to put on a Meguiar's smock and get involved. Learning is best done by participating, not watching from the sidelines.

I'll be sending out a reminder e-mail today to everyone on the list, reminding everyone the class is this weekend. Also, it's a good idea to have your car washed so that if we pick your car it's ready to go. Typically we want a dark colored, or black car to demonstrate on as black shows before and after the best.
