Lost KJ West club at Meguiar's!

If you plan on attending the detailing class for the Lost KJ West Club (http://www.lostkjwest.com/) on March 5th, 2005 , please reply to this thread and I will add your name to the list. Classes are limited to the first 30 people/cars that sign-up. After 30 people/cars have signed-up, a stand-by list will be started. This is due to limited space in the classroom.

If the class does not reach the 30 people limit by one week before the event, the class will be opened up for non members to attend up to a total of 30 people. This is because there are more people that want to attend a class then there are Saturdays available to accommodate everyone.


If you would like to attend this event you must sign-up by replying to this thread.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You are only allowed to sign-up for yourself and immediate family members that are living in your home. Friends, family and other club members will need to sign-up for themselves.

Sure! we can show you how to clean those Jeeps up! I think you club is going to become big fans our our new brushes in the Gold Class Accessory Line!

Just so you and the rest of the club knows, typically we don't wash cars here at Meguiar's but would rather have you bring your Jeep, (or any vehicle), to Meguiar's already washed and clean. We ask this for a number of reasons,

1. We teach the proper way to evaluate the surface to accurately determine the condition of your vehicles finish, (and other components), is to wash it first.

2. We have a limited amount of time

3. Washing tends to bring water into the garage and create the potential for someone to slip and fall.

That said, we do share a lot of information on proper washing techniques that you can take with you along with how to remove all the swirls and scratches off-road vehicles obtain while tooling around in the brush.

Would a simple rince down with the hose be a good "wash"? Just enough to get all the dirt off the cars?

Not if you want to work on the finish. Before claying, cleaning, polishing or protecting, you want to insure the car is spotlessly clean so as to avoid instilling any scratches.
