Your comment about having tried nearly every detailing company on the planet and nothing comes close to Meguiar's is a comment we love hearing and also one we've been hearing for a long, long time....
Here are some of the reasons why,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In 1901, Frank Meguiar Jr. started his company the Mirror Bright Polish Company in Evansville, Indiana. For, over 100 years now, what began as a simple furniture polish laboratory and manufacturing plant in the garage of Meguiar's founder Frank Meguiar, Jr., now spans four generations of Meguiar family stewardship. Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2001, Meguiar's, Inc. has become one of the world's leading manufacture of surface care products, providing highly specialized products for almost every conceivable type of surface.
When Frank Meguiar, Jr. first started out, he made one bottle of polish at a time using an eggbeater. Eventually, he was able to produce enough products at night with his kids, to fill the orders he would generate the next day to pay for groceries.
From his first bottle of furniture polish, Frank Meguiar, Jr. steadfastly determined never to sell a product unless he was convinced it was the very best of its kind on the market. To this day, the family follows that dictate and as a result their premium quality products have generated millions of enthusiastic users around the world. With over one hundred years of acquired knowledge, and four generations of Meguiar’s family stewardship, they are today, one of America’s oldest and most successful family owned businesses and one of the world’s premier polish manufactures.
"Most family businesses fail to transition to the second generation," explains Barry Meguiar, president and CEO of Meguiar's, Inc. "And even when they do, they usually lose their momentum. The difference for our family has been our inborn passion for what we do…it fuels the driving force that moves us forward and exhilarates us every day. We view the company as much more than a business and an opportunity to make money. Quite frankly, if it was just about the money, we would have sold out long ago. Eventually, that is what most successful family businesses do."
For Meguiar's, creating flawless finishes isn't merely a function of our business, but rather, a visible expression of the passion that ignites our company and goes far beyond simply polishing and waxing. Our passion for perfection is literally blended into every formulation we create. The result is a line of products that have gained worldwide popularity because they continually outperform the competition.
This is why Meguiar's products are used and recommended by car and automotive paint manufactures around the world as well as being the products of choice among the "Best of Class" winners at the most respected car shows in the world including the famed "Pebble Beach Concours de Elegance" in Monterey, California for as long as records have been kept.
Meguiar's involvement permeates every aspect of the car hobby. It is especially apparent at car shows where everyone wants their finish to look its absolute best, with deep dark reflections and the "Wet Look Shine" that Meguiar's is famous for. With Meguiar's, it's all about the passion.
Thanx for the welcome Mike...
I wish Meguiar's Australia would hold detail days out here in Oz...
Every now and then i will hold a detail day for car clubs showing off the amazing products Meguiar's have.
I just recently had a Rotary buffing class for some Rice boys ( as we say down here) to try and get people not to be affraid of the almighty Rotory polisher.
And what better way than to test it out on my old bonnet, which had been sitting outside, tree sap, scratches galore.....
I use this combo alot when i cut and polish and love the results.
Clay first - Always
Meguiar's Fine Cut Cleaner
Meguiar's Deep Crystal Polish
Meguiar's Deep Crystal Wax
This little pic gives you an idea of what a beginner can achieve with a Rotory.
Hi Adam,
As we can't get the Meguiar's dual action polisher in Australia, what polisher do you recommend?
Regards,
Steve
Hello, Adam. Welcome to MOL!
Have you detailed many Holden Monaros? I am the proud owner of an Impulse Blue 2004 GTO, which is based on the Monaro. I was wondering if you had any impressions about the paint on the Holdens. Is the clearcoat hard relative to other cars? Which products do you find work best at removing swirls? My car is relatively new so I have few swirls and scratches on it, but I want to be ready when they happen.
