Howdy folks,
Is it ok to get wax on surfaces with decals? I heard it can make then peel. I mean the kind of decals the manufacturer puts on the car/truck.

thanks

I either avoid machine waxing them or wax them by hand. I try to be careful of the edges too.

I do not belive that wax itself will harm them. It is more then rubbing, espeacially at the edges, that will casue the problems. That means I would definately not go over them with a machine, and lightly by hand. Also, as it is the rubbing that is a problem, it also means you need to be carefull with paint cleaners and polishes, as you rub them into the areas around edges of the decal.

One thing I do not know is how a decal would react to accidently being rubbed with an abrasive cleaner product, like ScratchX; and if that would cause a bit more damage to the surface of the deacal?
