Hi Ken,
Welcome to Meguiar's Online! :wavey
Thank you for registering with our forum and replying to this sign-up thread. I know it can be kind of confusing the first time you join a forum and post a message, but one of my goals is to introduce enthusiast to our forum which by default will teach you how to participate on any discussion forum.
The goal is to get people to jump over the hurdle so to speak because now that you've done this, (registered and replied), you now know everything you need to know to participate on this forum or any forum. I know a lot of people after registering and attending our class may never come back and participate on our forum, but at least we've given you the knowledge to do so; what you do after this is entirely up to you.
I do find however after about two years of coordinating the class like this, that often times people do come back and do use our forum as a resource, or a tool.
Often times they'll post something like this...
We covered so much information in the class, I forgot what the difference is between a pure polish and a cleaner/polish?"
To which I reply with my own post and include the below clickable link.
Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle (http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2409)
Discussion forums are powerful tools because unlike a phone call or an e-mail, instead of one set of ears, or one set of eyes learning from the questions and answers being discussed, potentially thousands, and even hundreds of thousands of people will be able to read and learn from the online discussion. Plus, sometimes it's just fun to interact or post a picture of your ride to show it off.
For this we have all kinds of different forum that you can check out by simply clicking on the Forums button at the top of any page. Here are some of the most trafficed forums...
Lot's of great information in these forums...

Hi Dave,
Welcome to Meguiar's Online Discussion Forum! :welcome :wavey
Thank you for registering with our forum and replying to this sign-up thread to attend this class. I promise to make sure the class is educational as well as fun.
As we discussed, this class is for the members of the Pacific Coast Corvette Club, if your friend with the BMW would like to register and sign-up for this class I will be glad to add her to the sign-up list but club members have first priority over non-members.
Our classroom is constructed in such a way to hold 30 people comfortably and because the classroom portion is about 2 hours long we like people to be comfortable.
http://archive.meguiarsonline.com/gallery/data/500/2TrainingRoom.jpg
If more than 30 people sign-up we can make room for another 5 people off the standby list but there is a limit to how many people we can squeeze in and still cater to everyone's needs. We like lots of people because it makes detailing cars like the Corvette fast and easy with so many hands pitching-in during the hands-on portion of the class after lunch.

I encourage you to have her register and reply to this thread and if we can, we will certainly include her in the fun.
Thank you! :) :) :)

Mike:
After receiving updates from you at work, I am finally going to do it and come down and learn how to detail my Z06.
I still have the same car and needless to say the finish in need of guidance. I drive the car every day and park it outside at LAX where its exposed to jet residue, hateful birds, sprinklers, baggage casrt and sea air. If that were not enough, I track the car on the weekends at Willow.
So, IMHO, the car is a perfect specimen for your seminar. I volunteer it for flogging as I can't thrash the paint any more.
So please sign me up. Look forward to the education.

Hi Ankur,
This class is for members of the Pacific Coast Corvettes Club (http://www.pccvettes.org/), if you are not a member, then I place your name on the Standby list until the week before the event. If the class does not fill up with members then non-members on the Standby list may attend in the order that they replied to this thread.
Check back here on Thursday or Friday to see where your name is at on the list.

There isn't actually any concrete rule.
What I find with some clubs is their members are not familiar with discussion forums, and/or even the Internet, so they have a difficult time
Registering with the forum
Receiving their Confirmation E-mail and clicking on the confirmation link
Replying to the sign-up thread
Take for example the Autopia sign-up thread, it filled up in 36 hours from the time I posted it.
Our forum is growing and together with the increase in new members and the outreach to traditional customers, I have created a new forum that hopefully will explain everything everyone needs to know to register and reply to their club's sign-up thread.
To date it's been incredibly successful except for a small number of people and for these people I do my best to get them my home office number, or get their phone number and I call them to help them walk through the process of becoming a member.
It's more than a process to attend out class, this forum is a resource and a tool that we want our customers to be aware of and know how to use.
I'm sending out the Reminder E-mail right now. Anyone that has replied to this thread will get a copy. It will state that at noon on Friday, (tomorrow), if the class is not full, I will move everyone on the Standby list to the primary list.
Only people on the list will get Goodie Bags and I will order pizza for the people on the list.

I've updated the list, looks like there's room for everyone that signed up!
Pizza's have been ordered and I usually stop by Mag's donut shop between 5:30am and 6:00am to pick up fresh donuts.
Donuts and hot coffee are served from 8:00am to 8:30am and the class will start at 8:30am sharp.
If you have a dark colored Corvette that needs attention and would like your Corvette considered for the demo car which will get clayed, cleaned, polished and waxed, then please wash your Corvette the night before as we don't have time to hold the class and wash cars.
We'll see everybody bright and early! :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

Hey mike, i'm not a corvette owner but i'd love to drive up to Irvine for the clinic. Am I still able to sign up for the class at such short notice? If so, how much does it cost and is parking an issue? I'm coming up from San Diego so i'm going to leave early to make it on time. Thanks again.

Hi Nick,
This class appears to be full at 31 people. I'm worried some members didn't register with the forum and reply to the thread and as such they'll just show up.
If you look at our Online Calendar, check out the upcoming MG and Ferrari Clinics, as I don't think these will fill up.

If one of those dates will work for you then sign-up for one of them... if not then come on up!
Thanks,

Hey Mike, thanks for your quick reply. None of the other two dates for this month will work for me because of my work schedule. Would I still be able to come up today even though the class appears to be full? Thanks for putting on these clinics!
