Pre-Rotary prep

I have an old Geo that I have been given access to as a practice vehicle for my new Makita.

My problem is that I won't be able to get serious with it for about a month with the vehicles I have lined up.

This being the case I was wondering if I should go ahead and wash it and at least apply a wax to keep it from getting any worse than it already is. It has severe oxidation, scratches galore and a variety of other problems that will give me some great rotary training.

Would it be advisable for me to go ahead and wash it and at least apply a wax? I am thinking #66. It's pretty bad. Or would I be better off using the A-12. I will be applying the wax with the DA.

If you have M66, aply this with the dual action polisher and it will be fine till you're ready to attack it with the rotary.

Thanks Mike, I figured as such but figured I had better ask first in case somehting I had not though of was better. I have a sample bottle on the shelf and will ilkey knock this out this week. I'd love to at least be able to clay it first but will have to make that judgement call on available time.

I plan on claying in a few weeks then will take it though the cleaners and polishes as needed. Before I even start I plan to make a project out of this one and take a lot of pics and hopefully get a good thread going on a newbies first Rotary effort. I'll get some pre wash and Pre #66 pics as well.
