Dang! Wish I could make it; but getting across the country would be challenging for my budget :(

And besides, if I come I'd much rather have my vehicle there with me :xyxthumbs

Do you ever cover rotary usage, BTW? I've been using a G100 now for nearly 5 years, and hundreds of man-hours on various vehicles. My less-than-a-year of rotary work needs some technique training though. :bounce

Because these classes are geared towards enthusiasts, we don't go into the rotary buffer. To tell the truth, the classroom portion goes from 8:30 to about 11:30, then we break for lunch and that gives us about 2-3 hours for the hands-on portion which is just enough time to show how to use your hands and the dual action polisher to remove defects and create a show car shine.

Would give my right arm to be there (actually, my left arm cuz I use my right to hold the PC !!;) ) ....us East Coasters have a definite disadvantage living here but, that is what's great about this forum...pictures, advice, step by step instructions...only thing missing is video clips...and you can even get those on the Meguiars site....so, would love to come to sunny CA in October but I'd have a tough time getting that approved by my CFO (my wife!!) ...have a great class and I look forward to reading all about it....:xyxthumbs

It will give you a pretty good idea as to how the day will unfold. You can also click on the links below and read through the pages to see what takes place at a class. To date I have not met anyone that has not learned a more than they thought they would and had fun doing it.

Ah. Are there ever classes that you do that cover rotary usage, that occur on a regional basis? I'd love to find a Meguiar's pro class/training that is within driving distance....

(and to clarify.... I should mention I'm not looking for the full training program, just classes on somewhat specific things like the "NXT II" class that Superior Shine posted about one time).

Mike,

The technology is defiantly available its just a problem of the insane amount of $$$$$ you will need plus its hard to learn how to use the PC or Rotary Buffer just by looking at your monitor.

That may be, however it give most of us who have not done this type of buffing before (with the DA) a lot of info. on how to learn ourselves....

A LIVE Video feed maybe $$$... however, what about a regular Digital Video Recorder which Meg's may already have... Record the Classroom and Hands-On part... then host the Video on this site for all to Download and watch?

That would be :xyxthumbs for all of us who can not make to CA.

Oh yeah, I just clayed the R/R 1/4 panel with aggressive clay and haven't polished that yet.

I have been a serious classic BMW fanatic until I drove and subsequently bought my latest 'toy', a Sonic Blue 2005 Mustang GT. I've used Zymol on my BMW's with fairly good results but the stuff leaves an oily residue on my GT...maybe I'm using too much or it's just not compatible with the domestic paint (not as much quality as the BMW).

Anyway, I live real close by in Laguna Beach and look forward to the detailing class on the 15th.

I just found out i have can not make on this sat. =( please give my spot to someone else. Will you guys offer this class later on?

Thanks for letting us know, you can always check our Online Calendar to see what's coming up. If the class isn't full the week before the class we let non-club members attend.

Next weekend is the clinic for the Ferrari Club an only one guy has signed-up. I know more are attending but I don't think the class is full.

Hey Mike if it not too much trouble do you think I can re-signup for the class. The reason is this sat is the only time I will have free to detail me car because I will be working weekend for a few weeks. Scott Tomkins was supposed to help me detail my car and teach me at the same time but he think I can learn more from the class. He also said I could be working on my own car which is the main thing I want to get done.

Thanks

I need a good test vehicle for some high resolution photos. A car that has a flat hood would work best.

Thanks!

how about a red car with terrible spider webs and hard water spots that are embedded into the paint!

There are 27 people on the list by my count. Typical about 4-5 wont' show up and won't contact us to let us know they're not going to shop up.

At last weekends Autopia Detailing Class, 9-10 people that signed-up, didn't show up, and also didn't let us know they weren't going to show up.

So we can plan on around 20 to 25 people for this weekends class.

Please sign me up. Actually, since I'm Mr. Mom this Saturday, I'll be there with my daughter Trinity who is 2 1/2 years old and loves helping me wash the car. She may be your youngest participant!

Hi Archie,

Sorry to hear you cannot make it, so far only 6 Ferrari owners have signed-up for the following weekends Ferrari class so if you sign-up for this class I'll put you on the standby list.

The classroom portion of this class starts at 8:30am sharp.

Arriving at 10:00 am will mean you will miss out on one and a half hours of information. Perhaps you should consider attending on a different date when you can arrive on time and participate for the entire class?
