On October 29th, 2005 Meguiar's will proudly host a hands-on detailing class for members of Meguiar's Online (http://meguiarsonline.com/index.php) here at Meguiar's Corporate offices in Irvine, CA.

Classes Size Limitations:
30 People - This is due to limited space in the classroom. If this class is not full by the Monday prior to the event non-club members will be allowed to sign up and attend.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
You are only allowed to sign-up for yourself and immediate family members that are living in your home. Friends, family and other club members will need to sign-up for themselves.

You are encouraged to check your e-mail and the sign-up list the evening and/or morning prior to the event for any notifications or cancellations. We have only canceled one class in our history and it was due to an emergency.

Photos of the event will be posted to Meguiar's Online Discussion Forum under Detail Days at Meguiar's. (http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=36)

Due to overwhelming requests, if the class does not reach the 30 people limit by Monday prior to the event, the class will be opened up for non-club members to attend.

As far as a demo car goes, here's what we look for,

* A black, or dark colored car as the before and after shows up the best to your eyes and also for the camera
* A car with swirls and scratches
* A car that has never been clayed, or needs to be clayed
* A car in which the finish is in bad condition, but not so bad no companies products could fix it, i.e. no clear coat failure
* The car has to be camera presentable, that means it can't be wrecked, or dented up so bad that even with the paint restored the car still looks bad

Oh my gosh, my car us SOOOOO PERFECT FOR THAT!!!

1- My car is BLACK!

2- My car has plenty of swirls and scratches! Even a couple dings from knuckle heads!

3- I have NEVER clayed my car and I would say it is in DIRE need of one.

4- The finish ain't the best it should/could be.

5- The car can be camera presentable! I won't even wash it before hand if it makes it more presentable :P It's not wrecked and I don't think a few door dings are that bad.

6- I added a 6 :P IMO my car looks worse than that vette or that Benz! Or at least just as "bad" as those cars. Let's just say I like my car dirty cause I think it looks better than when clean =X

Hi agentMurdoc,

Two things...

1) :showpics:



2) If you or any one that ever attends our Saturday Detailing Classes want your car to be considered as the makeover car, then you need to wash the car before you bring it to Meguiar's.

The reason for this is because it is already hard enough to get everything into the class in the time we have. To stop and wash and then dry a car takes up some of this valuable time, plus it gets the floors all wet with water and creates a little bit of a slip hazard.

And when we say wash the car, that doesn't mean rinse the car off, it's best, to get the best results, to get the car spic & span clean as in remove all the dirt from the wheels and tires, around cracks and crevices, and nooks and crannies, bumpers, taillights, headlights, windows, roof... everything... The cleaner the car is to start with, the easier, faster and more effective all of our claying, paint cleaning, polishing and waxing steps will be.
