Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash

What does Mequiar's think of that new Mr Clean AutoDry Carwash? Saw a commercial yesterday for the first time then today I got on the net checking it out. It has to be easy to use when it's still cold out and you don't want to keep your hands in a bucket of cold water. I don't want to use a brush on my car.
Opinions?

I have never tried this system, but I will be testing it out this afternoon and be happy to give you feedback on it. The one comment I heard is that it is expensive for what you are getting. I will keep you posted.

I too am interested in the AutoDry as well, as chinkapin02 said might be good for the winter. Say washing your car in the garage might make it a little easier.

You can go to their web site and sign up for a $5 off coupon takes 4 weeks to get. I got mine and thought it might be something to try or somehting to use for the filtering system only(if that is possible). I do know I would never let it replace my Gold Class soap, love that stuff.

Ok since you mentioned your opinion of Gold Class Soap I wish to know why? I'm always looking for something good to use and so far liking the Mequiar's line of auto care products.

I have tried a few different soaps not to many... but IMO the Gold Class seems to create a very slick surface during washing, at least the slickest I have found. I have a black truck and if nothing else it sure seems it would NOT allow contaminates to drag on the surface of the paint and cause micro scratches. Some soaps that I have used in the past seemed that the wash pad was dragging on the surface and the suds last only a few minutes. With Gold Class there is a lot of "suds" action, that lasts the entire wash. I feel this is a big step up from their Deep Crystal soap, which is what I was using before. One more thing for only $10 a gallon @ Target you can’t beat the price.

Almost for got leaves a nice shine as well!

yes gold class shampoo and conditioner is awsome ,but still waiting to try my nxt wash so then we'll see,but it is super thick ,lots of suds had to order it where i live all the stuff at the store i had tried in previous seasons and it was medeocer stuff so gold class is definnetly worth yuor mony.

I just started using the gc wash its the best.I also got the nxt wash dont see how it could be much better then gc.

I agree with all of the above about gold class soap. It is very sudsy, always leaves my car slick and it smells very good too. I haven't used many soaps, but I don't plan on using any others (except maybe another Meguiars soap)

I sure do thank all you fellows for your replies. I don't know what turned me on to Mequiar's but the products I've tried have worked out well. I guess the biggest problems I have is being here in Central Arkansas, Wal Mart and the few Auto Supply stores just carry a few of the Mequiar's products so it's hit or miss on what's available to me. It's not cost effective to order directly from Mequiar's because of the shipping cost. But one thing I can say when you do order from Mequiar's you sure do get prompt service. I'm sitting on pins and needles waiting for the weather to warm up enough to get out there and get some waxing done.

I just finished trying the Mr. C Auto wash for the second time. Didn't follow the directions properly the first time!! da...

My car has black pearl paint with plenty of wax on it. Car was lightly dusty, and it was in the shade on a sunny day about 60 degrees. Rinsed the car, soaped it up with the soap provided, then washed it down with a wash mit and rinsed it thoroughly again. Left it to self dry as instructed. I noticed soon after there was a soap film on many vertical surfaces where the water was trying to sheet off the finish, but I left it until the entire car was dry.

The one surface (My hood) that I thought would have the best results, becasue of being waxed often recently had horrible soap film on it. As I walked around the car I noticed that most horizontal surfaces hada bad soap film, the upper vertical areas were not bad, lower areas also had the film. So at the minimum the car will need a full wipe down with Quik Detailer or Final Inspection, and depending on how significant the soap film is may require a re-wash.

In theory and on paper, this sounds like a great idea, but the time you may save in the washing process you will more then make up for wipping soap film off the paint and windows. One other thing to mention is that the filters for this gun need to be replaced fairly often at a significant cost.

My advice, use water in your wash bucket that is luke warm to help fight the cold weather issue, rinse thoroughly and dry with towels, chamois or Micro Fiber Drying towels.

I use to have a detail business in nothern Illinois so I know all about washings cars in cold weather!! It can be brutal for us car finatics.

I thought it was to good to be true.what do you think about the absorber for drying?

I have always been a fan of synthetic chamois (Absorber) especailly after they get broken in, UNTIL..... I tried a Micro Fiber Drying Towel. I have found these to be the best of all. They absorb like a chamois, durable like an absorber, and soft like a towel. All in one.

Just my opinion, but I urge you to try them if you have not.

Ok fellows here is what I've done.
Went to Wal Mart in Searcy Arkansas and they had one Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash kit for $19.95. Noticed the refill of the soap and the water filter was about $10.00. Kind of high I thought.
I remembered seeing all the postings on Mequiar's Gold Class and NXT car wash and knowing how good the Meguiar's products are I bought a 1/2 gallon container of the NXT car wash. Lots cheaper and I'm willing to bet that with a little extra effort I'll get a lot better job. Thanks fellows for the information you gave me about Mr. Clean AutoDry Carwash.
