clearing up streaky wax / or qd'r

i find that if i use cold distilled water by spritzing it lightly on the problem panel(s), and gently wiping it in / off w/ a soft mf'r , I can eliminate any streaking that uncured wax or stubborn qd'r might leave.

would you suggest this before or after realizing that the panel is a problem panel?
