The view new posts button directs you to a search instead of the new posts.

Um, Which page or you looking at? I have never seen this. I use the View New posts button as my primary means of keeping up with things. Are you seeing this problem on all the pages or just a specific page or 2?

The "View New Posts" button is supposed to take you to a search of all the forums new posts.
Maybe you need to hit the "Go to first unread post" on the left hand side just under the title of the thread...

mm. I use the View new posts button all the time. It always takes me to all new posts in all forums since the last time I logged in.

Yeah, me too.
But from the way his question sounded, he wanted to go to the first new post in the thread he opened. Thats why I pointed out the other link...

Hopefully if the problem continues he'll chime in and provide further details. If not I will ask Mike to kill this thread. Nothing useful here.

The button I am using after I have logged on is on the page that list all of the forums.

The View New Posts button on this page,
http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/
Seems to work fine for me?
Perhaps the confusion is over that when you click on this button it searches for new posts?
Either way, it seems to be working, at least for me. One thing you can always try it to go to the bottom of this page, (lower right hand corner),
http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/

And then Log Out, and this will clear your Meguiar's Online Cookie, then log back in and see if that fixes the problem.
