  • Scratched Light Housing

Hi.At last got some time to repair my front/side-position/indicator light housing.
I decided to remove from the car as there was quite a lot of dirt/algae around the rim and they were a bit dirty inside too.Cleaned with heavy duty soap and dried out with air compressor.

1] A picture of the scratch.
    2] Wetsanded with 1000
    3] Wetsanded with 1500
    4] wetsanded with 2000
5] Polished by hand with PlastX
6] Finished and back on car.

    Actual working time 45-60mins.

PlasticX gave a real good polish at the end.Even by hand.

      Wow looks great.

I can't wait to use some PlastX on a scratch that's been bugging me on my headlights for a long while...

Those were some deep scratches, and you did an excellent job of restoring clarity to the headlight. Well done

                    Re: Scratched Light Housing

                    Hi,Thanks everyone for the compliments!!!

The scratches were a bit deep, but it turned out better than I thought it would.I was so glad to have got it done.It had been like that for a long time and was bugging me because I couldn't find the time to get onto it.

Ha-ha Mario. It's certainly not as hard as polishing glass!!

My glass is quite bad,a lot of wiper scuffs.I'll try out your methods on dummy pieces and see how I get on.I'll pm you if there is something I'm not sure about.

                    Thanks again!
