  • Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit

So I went to wal*mart to buy some plastX and saw the heavy duty headlight restoration kit. Decided to get the kit since my brake light could use a little polishing and I would rather have my power drill to the polishing instead of doing it by hand. Got to work and it works really good, leaves some fine swirl marks in the plastic (went over four times and still couldn't get them out) but you have to get down at a very low angle to see them. Only thing is the polishing tool spits lint everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE. Its a little hard to get off because it has a static charge and sticks to every thing so you cant just simply brush it off. Sorry for the crappy quality, taken with my cell phone. One question though, How can I get rid of those really fine scratches in the plastic?

Try a foam applicator pad with the PlastX.
Have you tried using the headlight protectant? It might fill in the small scratches and make them much harder to see.

Wow, look at all that lint over the trunk and over your clothes. That's messy.

As said, I'd simply go over the plastic with PlastX again until the fine scratches disappear or become thinner.

        Ditto to the above.

As for the lint from the wool pad.... yeah, wool will do that. You should try wet sanding and compounding an entire car with a bunch of guys. When you're done the inside of the garage looks like you were shearing a sheep, or a whole bunch of sheep, rather than buffing out a car.
