  • Help - nxt car wash

    Hello,

I just purchased some NXT car wash bottles in 64oz size from the local distributor in the UAE (meguiars middle east).

After some searching online I understand that this product was discontinued sometime during the year 2013, is that correct?

However, this distributor had some stock and I remember people loving it so I picked some up only to get home and find the discontinued info online.

My question is: Can this product still be used seeing how its almost 3 years old now / what is its shelf life? Lastly, will its age hamper its performance? OR - Is this product still sold in other markets, such as ME, Australia and UK - as it is still sold in their stores.

I looked at the bottom of the bottle and the batch number seems to be :
    E4291406F

Tried Emailing customer care 3 times in the last week and got not response. So please do help. Would be nice if you had a hotline for international customers too like Autogeek and some others do.

    Thanks and regards,

    OK, a few points here:

This product, and most of the NXT line, is still being made for international markets as the line is hugely popular outside the USA. The batch number you show indicates that the product was manufactured in May of 2014, which is well within the shelf life for any of our products. For the record, we state shelf life as generally being 3 to 5 years, but in reality most products will survive far longer than that, especially if unopened. We have product here in Irvine, CA that is a decade or more in age and still perfectly viable. So you should have zero issues using this product.

In future, and this goes for anyone else outside the USA who may be reading this, your best first course of action is to reach out to the retailer and/or distributor in your country with questions about any of our products, whether that's a usage question, a tech question, or even a complaint. I've checked with our Customer Care Center and they received two emails from you over the weekend. Our team is only in a half day on Saturday and they're off on Sunday, plus international communications are usually directed to our partners in the respective region from which they originated as they know best which products they carry, availability, pricing, etc. Since each country we deal with (and that number now exceeds 100) has their own rules and regulations regarding import duties, tarriffs, taxes, and sometimes even quantities of material allowed into the country, it's just impossible for our Customer Care Center to be totally versed in these almost infinite variables. Add to that the fact that the importers are free to pick and choose which products they bring into their respective countries, and that is an ever changing and evolving mix, and it furthers the complexity of the situation. That's why they will pass along international communications. Nonetheless, you should have gotten a response by now, and for that we do sincerely apologize. Again, for anyone else who may be reading this outside the US, contact information for each region/country we import to can be found at http://www.meguiars.com/international

So, long story short - we apologize for the lack of communication to you, but you've chosen and excellent product that should serve you very well, so we thank you for that!

      Mr. Michael,

Thank you so much for your response, that clears things up quite nicely!

I did try contacting my local supplier but they were not very helpful. That's why I rely on forums such as this one to get replies from well versed people who are pros and who have been using these products for a long time. That, and of course the participation of esteemed employees such as yourself is what makes this a great way to communicate.

I do thank you for your help and apologies for any inconveniences.

I look forward to trying the new products

      Regards,

      Mukul
