Foam Wax Applicators

what color applicator pad to use . Hand and machine. I don't want to use the wrong color for waxing. I have some black, yellow and red applicators but don't know what applicator is for what job. Does anyone have a list of what color of applicator to use to cut, wax and polish your car. Thank you

The hand ones are generally used for any step, unless you bought ones specifically made for something. As for a machine, the Meguiar's ones are as follows:
Burgundy- Compounding
Yellow- Polishing
Black- Finishing

However, depending on what product you use, different pads might be used for different steps. For example, with the new Ultra Finishing Polish, I've used it on all three pads for different levels of cut/correction.
