    Testing the Surface Before Claying

I watched the video on how to clay the car, and the one point I wanted to interject is how I check the feel of the surface for contaminates. While the method shown in the video may work for really bad paint surface conditions, I find the best method is to use a sandwich bag. Put your hand in the bag and gently run you finger tips over the surface. If you feel little bumps, that is the contaminates. I retest each area after I clay it before moving on to a new area. If it is not 100% smooth. I re-clay that area.

Are you asking for advice or just telling us your method?

Sorry, but just trying to pass on a little more info on testing to see if you need to clay a car.
