Remember, when using a 4" pad on a D/A buffer will notice a marked increase in cut over a 7" pad of the same foam construction - assuming similar speed and pressure of course. You're concentrating all that work into a much smaller space. If you do the math on the actual footprint, the difference is quite large. On a rotary you actually get less cut with a smaller pad (all else being equal) since the outside diameter of the smaller pad turns at a slower speed than that of a larger pad. And with a rotary, speed is a really big deal!

This question might be a bit premature, but do you have any idea how each 4" pad compares to the respective 4" LC pad (more cut, less cut, same cut etc...)? For example, how would the 7204 compare to the orange or white LC 4" pads? How about the 8204 and 9204?
