Re: SEMA this!!

It's a real shame but many cars had this type holograms it the one thing that makes SEMA a bummer to see beautiful cars destroyed

Re: SEMA this!!

This is called the SEMA detail job.

The detailers had to rush the cars for SEMA, so they could not take their sweet time to let the diminishing abrasives to slowly burnish the paint.

They should have used SMAT...

Re: SEMA this!!

Being as I just spent all week detailing the SEMA cars, and then walking around to see the rest... this doesn't surprise me. I talked to a lot of the owners who said they just had the body shop buff it out, or they did it themselves with no professional experience.

It was more common for a vehicle to HAVE holograms than not to. Shame, but true!

That said, there were also some cars here and there with fantastic finishes that were a real treat to work on and check out!

Re: SEMA this!!

You see this on almost every auto show. These pictures are from the Dutch auto show the RAI. It is a yearly event in Holland. Some cars just looked terrible.
Tesla Roadster:

Nissan GTR:

Spyker:

Aston Martin:

And some of the "detailers" cleaning the cars:
