adapter for double sided pad

I think to purchase an adapter for w5000 that has a m14 thread attaching to 5/8 threaded woolen pad

is this thread too long for w5000 to fit

Re: adapter for double sided pad

It's hard to say for sure if the threads on that adapter are too long for the W5000 pad, but it sure looks like a standard adapter used with double sided pads. Do you have a measurement of the length of the threaded area?

Re: adapter for double sided pad

That does seem too long, because I remember the W5000 thread hole has three threads in it.

Here's a picture:

Re: adapter for double sided pad

It would appear tp be too long as the W-5000 pad does have 3-4 threads and so do the 3M adpaters. I would place a nut on the thread to take up some of the threads just to make sure that it does not protrude out the pad's center.

Re: adapter for double sided pad

thanks for all the helps

the seller indicates that it is fine with the 3m and gpi double sided pads but not know the meguiars' one. Does 3m or gpi has a longer thread than meguiars on the pad
