claying other than the paint??

hey guys, how bad would it be to clay not only my paint, but my windows, chrome (bumpers, grille) and stainless exhaust tip? Would that stuff ruin the clay or the body part or what.

Re: claying other than the paint??

It's done all of the time. Most people use an older clay for this rather then throwing it out. Wheels also.

Re: claying other than the paint??

I always do this. I cut each clay bar in two pieces and clay the car, then glass, and finally wheels and chrome tips. I discard that piece of clay after all the above is done. Claying the glass windshield gets rid of all the road film.

Re: claying other than the paint??

Clay has many uses. I've used it to clean my windows and rims before. Just don't re-use it on your paint surface.

Re: claying other than the paint??

Glass and paint you can generally do with the same clay. Wheels, tips, etc want older or seperate clay.

Re: claying other than the paint??

Just did my front windshield with clay today, after cleaning all the residue off I topped it off with chrome polish, WHOA now thats nice!!! Clean and clear. Didn't see the difference during the day, but turn on the lights at night and you can see the corners where you missed spots. You can see all the hard water spots in those corners, the rest looks like new. Finished all the corners... now its perfect.

Re: claying other than the paint??

You will be very surprised at the difference claying makes on your glass.
