No, they're similar in appearance to our original Soft Buff pads, but the adhesive is such that these are machine washable.

I don't have a spec on the thickness, but looking at them side by side in front of me I'd say the 7" pads are just a tiny bit thicker. Not so much that anyone should care, really.

Remember, when using a 4" pad on a D/A buffer will notice a marked increase in cut over a 7" pad of the same foam construction - assuming similar speed and pressure of course. You're concentrating all that work into a much smaller space. If you do the math on the actual footprint, the difference is quite large. On a rotary you actually get less cut with a smaller pad (all else being equal) since the outside diameter of the smaller pad turns at a slower speed than that of a larger pad. And with a rotary, speed is a really big deal!

I don't need a spec. I was just curious if they were visually the same thickness or a little thinner is all.

Thanks.

Re: Premium Professional Finishing System Soft Buff Pads

Mike,

This question might be a bit premature, but do you have any idea how each 4" pad compares to the respective 4" LC pad (more cut, less cut, same cut etc...)?

For example, how would the 7204 compare to the orange or white LC 4" pads? How about the 8204 and 9204?

The foam construction of our 4" pads is the same as our 7" Soft Buff 2.0 pads so comparisons to LC pads should be similar. With that in mind our W7204 yellow polishing pad is generally accepted to fall somewhere between the LC orange and white, our W9204 black finishing pad is very similar to their black pad, and our W7204 maroon cutting pad should fall between their yellow and orange pads.
