Questions & Answers
G110 & G220 Dual Action Polisher
_______________________________________

1. Is this tool better than the G100 and why?
See chart…The results achieved with the G110 will definitely meet the results achieved by the G100 with some additional bells and whistles. Keep in mind, this new machine is NOT a replacement for a rotary, and the features and benefits of the “old” Dual Action Polisher (G100) still apply.

2. Is this tool better than other similar machines i.e. the Ultimate Detailing Machine sold by Autopia?
See Comparison Chart… They are both designed as Dual Action Polishers. When used with the exact same pads and chemicals, the overall results will be similar.

3. My friend bought both a UDM and your new tool and upon inspection they look very similar? What’s the deal?
We do not know where the UDM is made, but we do know that we have been working on the new G110 for almost 1 year and can say they are NOT made at the same facility the G110 & G220.

4. Your tool is made in China as is the UDM, are they made at the same plant with just different cosmetic components?
Absolutely NOT

5. Which tool has the most power? The UDM, the new Meguiar’s PC or the G100?
See Chart

6. I paid $225.00 for my G100 and now you introduce this one for $150.00 can I exchange the G100 for the new Meguiar’s PC?
No

7. What kind of warranty do you offer with this new machine?
1 year limited warranty
* Includes items like brushes, switches, cord, handle normal operating parts.
* Does NOT include abuse or misuse – broken housing due to dropping of machine

8. Can I use my old W64DA backing plate with this machine? What is the thread size?
Yes - 5/16 – 24 thread

9. Are you going to continue to sell the G100? If not what happens when I have a warranty issue with my G100 and you don’t have them any more?
No, once we are out of stock of the G100 it is gone…

10. Do you offer a case with this machine?
It comes with a hard case when you purchase it.

11. Do you offer a kit with pads?
Not now, but keep your eyes peeled 

12. What is the weight of the machine?
See Comparison Chart

13. How much does it cost?
MSRP $ 149.99 (G110)

14. Is it going to be sold anywhere in my area?
Through all of our existing “Pro” Distribution, as well as direct from Meguiar’s.

Hope this helps!

Re: Dual Action Polisher Comparison Chart

Just to note, we copied and pasted the charts above from MS Word and now every time we edit that thread the coding changes and it keeps tweaking the layout in a negative way.

We'll fix this later but want to let everyone know that's reading this we are aware of how the charts are displaying.

Re: Dual Action Polisher Comparison Chart

Think we tweaked the code enough to work now, how do the tables look to everyone else?

They look fine on our IE browser.

This is correct. the Meguiar's G100 is the same tool as the tool the rest of the world refers to as the PC which stands for Porter Cable, not Personal Computer.

If you look at the top of each chart we have changed the G100 to G100/PC and we hope this clears up any confusion for people that didn't know the G100 and the PC are the same tools. For what its worth, Meguiar's introduced the Porter Cable Dual Action Polisher to the Detailing World long before there were any online discussion forums and long before there were any online detailing supply websites like Autopia, Autogeek, CMA etc. Long before these guys were around.

And for good measure here's this timeless classic...

The Dual Action Counterweight 'Controversy'

Re: Dual Action Polisher Comparison Chart

Okay so stupid question:
If swirl marks are the enemy to all finishes, then wouldnt by hand be the best way to avoid them?
And Yes by hand is hard work ( but what isn't these days) and a machine would be defintely faster and easier, but how can you assure a swirl free finish with a machine?
Just practice and practice or is all talent which then brings me back to hand rubbing?

Re: Dual Action Polisher Comparison Chart

Hi Mike,I actually just posted a thread up above, before hitting this one(seems to happen to me?). Anyway, thanks for posting this information as I am about to purchase a DA.

There are only a couple of things that bother me,though(G220).

1] 13. How much does it cost?
MSRP $ 149.99 (G110)

Okay,it says G110,which it is,but the G220 costs nearly twice as much in Europe, and that is for a stand alone unit.

2] I would prefer,or at least have peace of mind if it was made in the states. I'm not saying that this makes it a bad product or implying anything like that, but I own many tools and goods that have come from the states and they are still going strong today.
