Chevy Silverado Black DETAILED

Saturday was the F-250. Sunday was a Chevy Silverado which probably was waxed once in it's lifetime. Ok maybe twice. The paint had so many bonded contaminants that running the palm of my hand across the paint sounded & felt like sandpaper. My goal on this job was to remove a good portion of the swirls and bring back a shine. No rotory was used. I went with the G110 a W-8006 pad and some good 'ol #80 followed by some #66. Time spent was 8.5 hours. Part of that was shampooing the interior carpet.

Here is the trucks condition before a wash
Chevy Silverado
After the wash I take a closer look at the paints condition which is ofcourse swirly

Two passes with the clay removed all the bonded contaminants

Hey, the truck looks really nice and swirl free. Those wheels and tires cleaned up real good. What process and product did you use?

Thanks for the comments fellas.

For the wheels I used Wheel Brightener and APC on the tires. Dressed with Hyper Dressing.

Excellent clean up! From my personal expirience with trucks (and I do a lot of them) chrome wheels don't need such aggressive cleaner to shine.

I totally agree. I have two spray bottles of Wheel Brightener. One is diluted 10:1 and the one I used on these particular wheels is about 15:1. I guess I could have gone with soap & water or Meguiars all wheel cleaner.

Nice finish and accomplished w/ good 'ol #80. The swirls really show up on the before pix on that black paint. As usual, nice work.
