2008 Mercedes Bens CLK500 DETAIL

Today I worked on a Mercedes CLK500 black. Seems that these last few details have all been black cars/trucks which has made it fun but tiring to say the least.

Here are some before shots. Actually this shot shows the minor.

There were minor to moderate swirls all over the car.

Water spots on the passenger side.

You can see more of the water spots on the passenger side

Not sure exactly what was on the driver side wheel but it was DIIIIRRRTY! Upclose you can see it had some type of oil & crud

I did my first test spot with #80 & the G110 with a W-8006 pad

I then tried my second test spot with the rotory #80 & the W-8006. I think I liked this better. A second pass should improve it some more.

So far so good.

Now this is how the car should look. Might even be in better shape than when it came out of the dealership

So, this particular paint was great to work on. Just soft enough to make the corrections without too many passes & most importantly without having to use anything too aggressive. Luckily the waterspots were not etched in so I was able to remove them easily. I tried a few combinations and on this paint after using #80 I found that #66 cleaned up very well and gave me a good shine. Total time spent was 8 1/2 hours. Not too bad. Tomorrow I should be working on an Acura in which I will post up.

that the car probably looks better then when it was new. You did great workthere. Thats how there suppose to look. Way to go.

Thanks guys for the kind comments. One thing I didn't mention was that there was quite a bit of bonded contaminants on the paint. So claying the car made a whole world of difference as far ashow the paint felt.

Very nice. Shows the power of #80. Highly under rated. I would have loved to see what #105 could have done.
