  • 2000 Chevy Impala: the GRANDKIDS Car!!!

This vehicle belongs to my wife's grandfather. Unfortunately they get the "opportunity" to watch their step-great grandchildren on a far too regular basis. Nothing against the little ones, but their parents thrust them on my wife's grand parents, sort of a form of free day care.
Wife's grandpa is also a GM retiree (the old Norwood plant). He certainly takes pride in his GM.

Keep in mind I spent the majority of the time on the interior, the paint wasn't in HORRIBLE shape but needed a little care. I ran out of time and daylight so I didn't give the paint the full treatment I wanted.

    Exterior:
Soak, and then spray down with 10:1 degreaser
Wash with Hyper Wash, rinse dry.
    claybar certain spots.
The hood was treated to PC/8006/83, PC/9006/9, and Hand/Foam App/26. I planned to do this for ALL horizontal surfaces but time didn't allow.
Rest of the car was hit with PC/8006/66
Under hood was hit with degreaser, brushed, rinsed, 2:1 Hyper Dressing.
Tires got Hot Shine, Glass got Stoner's Invisible Glass

    Interior:
Mix of APC 4:1, and then some Zep Commercial Premium carpet shampoo.
Brushed the hard to reach areas, then used the PC on setting 6 (great setting), with the PC upholstery attachment from autodetailingsolutions.com.

Enough of the boring stuff, make with the pics already!

Lots of fun. My in-law grandfather was VERY enthused about it when I brought it to him, and that was the best part!

        Thanks.

And BTW regarding the exterior shot with no flash... That's a textured ceiling, not swirls!

Nice work! I'm sure he was happy when you brought it back to him, and you're right, that is the best part.

Plus, you have to love the Impala.

Great job! I just can't stand stickers on cars unless they actually make it look good.

When I saw the pics with the stickers. I was like what a mess. You cleaned up that gm real good. I bet he was a happy man. Great work.
