  • Removing dried wax and polish?

Hello eveyone, i was curious what is the best way to remove polish and dried wax from plastic trim?

I have some on my XM antenna and on the bottom of my bumper. I can provide picture upon request.

You are reffering to the black textured kind of plastic/trim?

Options would include dedicated cleaners like APC or #39, or even something more random like peanut butter.

Then a soft brush and cloth as well to work them in.

I tried peanut butter with spotty results.

Try a good old fashion school eraser the big pink one. You will be amazed

Just to note, it's not the peanut portion of the peanut butter that works, (sometimes), it's the vegetable oil. Thus instead of using peanut butter for the vegetable oil you could just use the part that works, (sometimes), and that's vegetable oil.

M39 with a toothbrush works really well and then apply a dressing.

Before that though, slowing down and being careful or blue painters tape avoids about 99.9% of the problem to start with.
