Some evidence of 3M's Acquisition of Meguiar's

Noticed this the other day while loading MOL.

If you look at the status bar on your window, you will see the site loading from a 3M server at two times during the load up.



Found that kind of interesting.

Yes, I've noticed that too every once in awhile for the last few months.

Usually IT is one of the first things to merge when a company acquires a new business.

You can do a "view page source" and do a search on 3m.com. It appears to be embedded in every page. The js appears to be collecting metrics.

Ryan, you've peaked my interest, we have a T-1 connection here at work and I don't see what you see, but I have the middle of the race DSL at home and will try it there tommorow when I get off of work.....

I read a good article in Hot Rod about the merger and frankly forgot about it as it doesn't seem to interupt normal business for Meguiar's. Just gives them more rescources or at least gives 3M more rescources

This wasn't slow internet that allowed me to take those screen shots.

I have 4 electives this year so I spent a entire class (50 minutes) taking the screen shots until I got one that actually caught the .3m.com. It was pretty interesting just going all out on the print screen button while people stared in amazement.
