  • Good day at O'Reilly Auto Parts

Before I get into my trip to O'Reilly Auto Parts, I just wanted to show you some of the new items I have added to my Meg's collection.

Everything except the Sliding Lock Brush (which I got at Dollar General) I got at Wal-Mart. Now on to my little excursion. I went to O'Reilly to get some metal polish and see if they had anything new from Meg's. This was my purchase today:

Total, they had 12 items from the Mirror Glaze Line. The only thing that was by the regular car care stuff was M40, the rest of it was by the adhesive remover and lacquer thinner. Here's the prices of the Mirror Glaze items I found compared to Meguiar's Direct (MD for short), Autogeek (AG for short), and ADS:

    O'Reilly $10.99 (16 oz.)
    MD $12.99 (16 oz.)
    AG $12.99 (16 oz.)
    ADS $9.99 (gallon)

    M02 Fine Cut Cleaner
    O'Reilly $10.99 (16 oz.)
    MD $11.49 (16 oz.)

    ADS $27.49 (64 oz.)

    O'Reilly $11.99 (16 oz.)
    MD $11.49 (16 oz.)
    AG $9.99 (16 oz.)
    ADS $9.49 (16 oz.)

    M09 Swirl Remover 2.0
    O'Reilly $11.99 (16 oz.)
    MD $12.49 (16 oz.)
    AG $12.99 (16 oz.)
    ADS $10.49 (16 oz.)

    M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0
    O'Reilly $18.99 (16 oz.)
    MD $21.99 (16 oz.)
    AG $17.99 (16 oz.)

So, what do you think, guys? Did I get some good deals? Have I found a gold mine here? Of the items listed, what do you think I should definitely have? I already have M07, M40, and M135, and I don't need any waxes or paint cleaners. Incidentally, both M40 and M135 smell really nice. Question on M40: what all can you use it on? Question on Hot Rims Mag and Aluminum Polish: what all can you use it on?

Looks like you have done your homework. It also appears that you have a good collection of items!
My father-in-law has an account with O'Reillys and says that he can get somethings cheaper than what the regular customer can get. I am going to be checking into this, to see if Meguiars stuff is cheaper with an account.

M40 can be used on most hard and soft rubber surfaces like trim and seals. I've used it on that and my trunk liner. Theoretically you should even be able to use it to clean your tires before applying your hot shine tire gel. I used it recently to clean the crud off a used DeWalt rotary I bought. Did a fantastic job cleaning the vinyl plastic housing and the power cord.

The O'Rileys in my area has the biggest selection of not only Megs but of all car care products. The only one I know of as well that carries and of the Mirror line, beside the pro shops.

Great find at O'Reilly! Those prices speak volumes about ADS though...

Yeah, it appears to me that ADS is more economical regarding most products. However, if I just needed an item or two, it would be more worthwhile just to get it from O'Reilly. That way, I'd save on shipping and not have to wait for it.

I like using #40 for the interior trim. Does a great job on the interior.

You can use #40 for the exterior but I prefer using All Season Dressing for exterior applications. Just my preference.
