  • Ever just feel like a challenge?

Every once in a while, I like to challenge myself. Not that I'm bored or anything, it just spices things up a bit

I hear people all the time on this and other forums, that they can't do this or that because they don't have product X or Product Y, yada yada yada. So this is for you guys!

I completed this Explorer with nothing but wax! Yes, thats right, only wax. From start to finish, every step was completed with only using Meguiar's PRC 151, only the tool and pad changed.

1st step-Purple Foamed Wool on rotary
    2nd step-Meg's yellow foam 2.0 on rotary
    3rd step-Megs yellow foam 2.0 on DA

3 steps, 2 pads, 2 tools and only 1 product

So there you have it! I don't want to hear anyone complain that they can't work on their car because they don't have any products! You only need one!

Do you think you could get the same results without a rotary buffer?

Hmmm, guess it depends on the paint. I won't lie, it would be a lot tougher to achieve the same results, but I wouldn't say it's impossible.

Are you trying to challenge me?

Nick, just wanted to confirm something. You mentioned 2 tools. I noticed that the 3rd step was also with a rotary. Was that with a rotary or DA?

The reason I ask is that I tried finishing with D151/W8006/Rotary but there was some hazing left behind. Could only get the finish I was happy with after D151/W8006/DA. How did you get such a finish with a rotary?

Hoping to learn from the master. TQ.
