  • Got my ADS order! My G110v2 has arrived!

It came! It came! It's here, and it's mine!

    My order consisted of:

    G110v2 Polisher Express Kit
    2 6-packs of the 7" Soft Buff 2.0 pads
    32 oz. of M105
    32 oz. of M205
    2 Grit Guard inserts
    Optimum Opti-Seal
    Optimum Opti-Bond 32 oz.
Meguiar's Super Degreaser bottle (bought Super Degreaser from Autogeek)
    2 Tolco Foaming sprayers
    Optimum Car Wax
    4 microfiber applicators
1 gallon of Optimum Car Wash

and I had ordered 2 Premium microfiber towels, but Rick said he'd just throw them in at no charge. When I got my order, I found out he'd upgraded them to 12 towels (6 blue and 6 gold) at no additional charge. Plus, I got the Meg's duffel free (an extra one additional to the one that comes with the kit). So I was very pleased with how well everything was packaged and the exceptional customer service. Kudos to Rick!

Now I'm set to tackle any job that's thrown at me!

Very true! BTW, anybody have any idea what kind of extension cord to use with the G110v2?

Check your owner's manual for the G110v2, top of page 3. It tells you what AWG gauge wiring required for various lengths of extension cord.

And congrats on acquiring the G110v2 - you're gonna love it!

I saw that, but didn't understand it. Can you please explain it to me?

The longer the cord, the thicker the gauge. The numbers pertaining to power cords work inversely (the smaller number indicates a thicker gauge). I believe the manual calls for a 14 gauge cord at 100 feet, 16 gauge at 50 feet, and 18 gauge at 25 feet or less. 16 and 18 gauge cords are most common, often used for small power tools and gardening applications.

However, it's not a bad idea (albeit unnecessary) to go at least one gauge higher than the recommended minimum. I use a 12 gauge 50 foot cord, which is probably teetering on overkill, but I feel more secure that it will handle any load for my polisher.

Do you feel that 50 feet is too much cord? I just hate being stuck with a ton of excess cord, as it tends to get in the road IMO.

                  Noooo
50 feet is just right for me. What I meant by overkill was the gauge I chose (12) for a 50 ft cord when I could have gotten away with 16.

I also use a 12 gauge 50 foot cord. I like having the excess cord length available if I need it. It hasn't gotten in my way yet.

But go with any length cord that will work best for you.

50 ft is a good length because a 25 ft cord isn't going to allow you to reach all the way around a vehicle and still give some slack for working. Also better than a single 100 ft because you won't be tripping over the extra 50 ft when it isn't needed. Youc can always buy a second 50 ft cord down the road if needed.

I usually only buy 12 ga extension cords so I can use them for various power tools without having to worry about cord length vs voltage draw of the tool vs voltage drop. For most tools, 12 ga will let you go at least 150 ft without any problems.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but what do the gauges signify (12 gauge vs. 16 gauge)?

                          Nice
I got mine a couple weeks ago
Havent had a chance to use it though.

                          But basically,
smaller the gauge, the bigger the wire,

                            Great order.

Let us know how you like the G110v2. Still waiting for both my first generation G110s to die before I get this.

Those Tolco foaming sprayers are awesome , I use them for Wheel Brightener and APC.

This should tell you everything you've ever wanted to know about wire gauge, and then some!

For the sake of your sanity, you might want to just skip down to the chart on the above page...... unless you're a math wiz (very much unlike me) then the formula might make your head explode. You'll see what I mean when you get to the wikipedia page.
