Difference between these two waxes?

I just recently got my car (2010 black g37x coupe) and am very new to detailing. So i decided to get the 3 step process. Im wondering what the difference between the DC step 3 wax and the nxt 2.0?

Re: Difference between these two waxes?

The DC Wax is a carnuba/synthetic blend.

Nxt 2.0 is a synthetic wax with hydrophobic polymers.

I'd go with the Nxt.

Re: Difference between these two waxes?

i got the DC step 3 wax since ive never waxed before and it was about half the price, i figured i would start with something cheaper, no point in wasting expensive product. And im sure the results wont be disappointing with the step 3 wax

Re: Difference between these two waxes?

I like step 3 in terms of looks and beading. The step 3 gives a better glow and shine because it has Carnauba and the beading is perfect round droplets.

The NXT for me LAST a lot longer but that's it. So far its been going 1 month and 5 days even after 3 snowstorms.

I think I will do Step 3 for my next wax.

Re: Difference between these two waxes?

this may sound stupid, but is it possible to do one coat of DC step 3 wax, and a final layer of NXT 2.0? since NXT 2.0 last longer? or would that not produce the effeect i think it would?

Re: Difference between these two waxes?

It can be done, but probably wont end up lasting as well as 2 coats of the Nxt.

Re: Difference between these two waxes?

fair enough, once i get the hang of waxing. and once i finish that bottle of DC step 3 wax ill for sure pick up nxt. I was afraid to drop the 30 dollars since ive never waxed before, i felt it would be a total waste if i used to much product, which im sure i will first time.

I been dying to try this combo. Step 3 for a glaze look and NXT to seal it.

Re: Difference between these two waxes?

Yes, learning thin coats is key.

Re: Difference between these two waxes?

Both products give a great finish and thin coats is the way to go.
