What is the best value wax meguiar's have ???

i've seen all of meguiar's wax price, and for me it's a little bit expensive

so i've sorted to 2 product of wax, one is cleaner wax, and the other is deep crystal carnauba wax, many of my friends suggest me to use the nxt wax, but in my country it cost 45 us dollars, with the cleaner wax i've only spent half of it

what i'm going to ask is, is the cleaner wax safe to use on a new car, my car has a lot of plastic, and i wax it every week bcoz in the tropical island of indonesia, the weather is unpredictible, one hour is raining, and one hour later is very hot, so my wax is gone in one week, for your information, i've parked my car outside, bcoz there are no garage at my house

another question is what is the best wax, cleaner wax or deep crystal carnauba wax

thx

Re: What is the best value wax meguiar's have ???

It's impossible for us here in the U.S. to tell you which of the Meguiar's waxes is the best value in Indonesia. What I can tell you is that here in the U.S. NXT generally costs 3X more than Cleaner Wax.

Yes, Cleaner Wax is safe to use on your car but keep it away from all plastic trim.

I do not know whether Cleaner Wax of Deep Crystal Wax is "better" than the other. Cleaner Wax has cleaning agents in it. Deep Crystal is more of a pure wax--it should be applied to a prepared surface. There's a lot to be said for using a wax like Cleaner Wax in an environment where the car is taking a beating from rain and pollution.

Cleaner wax is fine, careful with plastics.

As for the wax, #26 rocks!

I would use NXT. If your current wax is only lasting a week even at $45 US the longevity of NXT should save you money and time.

You could also look at the Professional Mirror Glaze products.
M21 in the 64 fl. oz. size
or
M26 in the 128 fl oz. (1 gallon) size

Re: What is the best value wax meguiar's have ???

wow thx for the quick response, yes unfortunately my car has many plastic bumper, so i must wax it carefully, anyone knows which wax that meguiar's have that cannot affect plastic, bcoz i had a hard time to clean the plastic bumper after waxing

does the nxt wax affect the plastic trim ???or i just stick with the cleaner wax

i think next month i will buy deep crystal polish, bcoz i just read 5 ways how to maintain exterior of you car, so one of the step is polishing, and i've just know that i don't have any of polishing meguire's product

another question, does deep crystal polish works fine with cleaner wax ???

thx

The DC Polish actually isn't a polish, it is what Meguiars calls a "pure polish" I think, but it is actually more of a glaze. It has no cleaning ability, and will not correct paint, it will just add wetness, depth etc before applying a wax or sealant. If you want to "polish" your car in the literal sense of the word, you would need something abrasive with the ability to clean the paint by removing a small layer of paint in order to get rid of scratches, blemishes, etc. You could use Ultimate Compound, SwirlX, ScratchX, or even a cleaner wax to do this.

ooohh now i get it, so if my car is new i don't need polishing with ultimate compound etc, so what i need to do is just wash the car with meguiar's car wash and if there is a tar, bug, road grimes or scratch then polish it with 3 products above, after that what i need to do is waxing it with cleaner wax, is that right ???

Not only that Cleaner Wax is light on your pocket, it also makes waxing (cleaning and polishing as well) faster.

The cleaner wax is not necessary if you have already polished the car with one of the three products I mentioned above. It wont hurt to use it though. I do have some samples of the cleaner wax I got with a bottle of NXT but have never used it. I hear it is a pretty decent wax for the price though.

Re: What is the best value wax meguiar's have ???

I used the Cleaner Wax about a month ago, on my new truck. Since the paint was brand new, it did not need any compound, or polish. But, I did have some stubborn water spots. Wax alone did not remove the spots. The cleaner wax got rid of those spots. The wax was still beading well this past weekend while I was washing the truck. So, the "cleaner" part got the spots out, and the wax part is still protecting after a full month.
