  • APC as a wheel cleaner

I was just curious is it safe to use apc as a wheel cleaner dilluted 10-1 or 4-1 the reason i ask is that I go through alot a wheel cleaner have 4 cars that like to stay clean. Is it safe to use as an all wheel cleaner? What dillution? I also have safe degreaser but i dont know about it on rims? I usually try to use soap and water but the cars other then mine dont get cleaned as much as mine adn have pretty bad break dust. Any opinions? Thanks Greg.

I'm sure it'll work fine, but I don't think it'll be as strong as say wheel brightener. That's definately better than using degreaser.

Give APC a try on a bad wheel for testing. If it works ok then you should be fine. In my experience APC can clean anything, but it's best to stick to products that area geared to a specific thing than to expect chemicals to have multifunctions - this in the end can pose long term damage if you can't see it right away.

Another note - I'm not sure if APC can do a good job with brakedust w/o ruining the clearcoat. Won't know till you try a test spot in an inconspicuous area.

Good luck and let us know what you decided on.

i'm with you on this as well (have 3 cars to keep clean). i'm wondering if using a foaming sprayhead will work better with the apc on cleaning the wheels/tires?

There is no effect from using APC 10:1.I used it on many cars. From wheels to doorjambs to dead bugs on the front end.The problem with APC is its not aggressive enough on heavy brake dust.then you really need a Specific wheel cleaner.Judging by your T-Bird youll be fine.Good looking car.
